This only happens during leap years!

For most of you that know me very well, you know that i do not measure and i do not sew. I have almost always been afraid of the sewing machine, we have never gotten off on a good foot, however, this year is different. My mom, who can sew anything, helped me to complete new curtains for our master bedroom. Being pretty excited about this new ability, i decided to try something more fun and more challenging, a new summer dress for Sophia. Mind you, it is not the fanciest piece of clothing, but i am pretty excited about the cute little dress. I had a lot of trouble trying to figure out how to do straps, so i just decided to add red ribbon for the straps. It fits her well and she says that it is comfortable, so that means that she will wear it. I also picked up some pink and green paisley material to do another dress. Sophia is also pretty excited that mom can sew now.

WINTER DAYS

We are all ready for the winter to be over. Even Justin mentioned that he is tired of the winter since we cannot be outside to enjoy it with the kids. We can take Sophia outside to play in the snow, but it is a must that we keep Miles distracted so that he does not cry while they are outside. We also cannot have a fire in the fireplace due to Miles' breathing issues. Each day, Miles can be found longingly looking out of the window to watch for cars, buses, trucks, or dogs. He also keeps saying, "Snow, Snow". It is really sad for us that he will not be able to be out playing in the snow until he is 2 years old. However, here are some of the pictures that we see on a regular basis as Miles watches out the window.

MESSY FACES

Sophia just loves getting into my make-up and using my lipstick. I think that she will need to practice a little more.
She may be ready for the circus soon.
But I mean really, she is just so cute, how can you NOT love her and also laugh at the same time. How could we ever be mad at that face???
Our children have adorable face that can get pretty messy. Miles has enjoyed his spaghetti. He has been practicing feeding himself and we recently switched him into a booster seat instead of the highchair at the table. He really has been enjoying sitting at dinner with us much, much more and will sit for a longer period of time since he is a part of the table.

WELCOME

After starting this blog, i started to wonder, how do you actually start off your first blog. This blog is for friends and family to keep up with our ever changing life and to watch the kids grow up a little bit easier. We are blessed to have family and friends close by, but many family and friends are too far away and the kids are growing up so fast!!

A little about the title. Proof of Purpose. We all have a purpose to be on this earth, and i want to show you MY purpose through photo proofs. I hope that you enjoy, since photography is a hobby that I love. There are SO many wonderful things to take pictures of and share with you, i just hope that i can live up to some of the other blogs that I LOVE to read, such as lookydaddy.com and simplyradiant.blogspot.com. Both blogs are a daily check for me, I hope that you enjoy them too.

A little more about me, I am a part-time SAHM of a great 17 month old son born with a rare heart defect. He cannot be in daycare yet, so he is at home with me, being watched by my mom or husband on the days that i work as a physical therapist at a local hospital. I love and miss working with my cancer patients at work, but i need to be home right now. My 4 1/2 y/o daughter loves school right now and will be starting kindergarten in the fall. I cannot believe that i have a kid in kindergarten soon, i cannot be that old, can I?? I have been married for 8 1/2 years, and been dating my husband since we were 15, now, more that 1/2 of our life has been spent together. Our son has brought new perspective to our life and what is important. I believe that it has brought our family closer together, not pushed us further away. This is my purpose, to have a strong family, love and play with my kids, give them great memories, be an advocate for heart defects and children with heart defects, and work hand in hand with my great husband to raise our kids and create a great life together. I will strive to show it all in pictures. I watching and reading, each time, i want you to think, what is your proof of purpose, it is not how much money you make, but how we use our time to care for ourselved and others.

Also, i am a list maker. You may find many lists of what I want to do/ do with this blog, also make comments on what you want to see. I will do my best to provide!

This should be a great journey to watch, i hope that you come along for the ride.
